Major Funk x Problematic Orchestra! Major Funk gets bigger, bolder, and fully orchestral. This Halloween, Whitehorse’s own Major Funk joins forces with the Problematic Orchestra for two nights of original music at the Yukon Arts Centre. Featuring a 20-piece orchestra alongside Major Funk’s signature groove-driven sound, the concert reimagines the band’s catalogue through brand-new orchestral arrangements created specifically for this collaboration. Expect deep grooves, soaring strings, punchy brass, synth textures, and the energy of a live funk show expanded to orchestral scale. The program features original music from Major Funk, with arrangements and new musical contributions from a team of Yukon and Canadian composers and arrangers. Producer Charles Hegsted and Morningcloak open the evening in collaboration with the orchestra, setting the stage for a genre-crossing concert built around experimentation, improvisation, and a distinctly northern creative voice.
