About this Event
Inverclyde’s Third Sector Community Justice Forum is hosting an event to commemorate Prisoners Week 2026. This year's theme, Show Mercy – Inverclyde’s approach to challenging stigma and the justice system, will explore how to look beyond the label, the past or the circumstances to see the person in front of us. Recognising a fellow human being trying to navigate the challenges of life provides an opportunity to respond with kindness and compassion. This can make all the difference.
The event will explain what Prisoners Week Scotland does and the importance of this year’s theme. Colleagues from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde will share information about the stigma around drug use in the justice system and a newly developed health assessment to improve the health of individuals in Pr*son.
We will also hear from people with lived experience of the justice system. The event will feature the public debut of Walk in My Shoes, a film exploring the stigma faced by people involved with the justice system and their loved ones. The film follows three Inverclyde residents as they share how stigma has affected their lives.
