Relief Printmaking Workshop: Jigsaw MethodJoin the Mann Art Gallery and the Prince Albert Historical Museum for a hands-on Relief Printmaking Workshop exploring the “jigsaw” method using rubber lino blocks!
In this free three-hour workshop, participants will learn the basics of relief printmaking while experimenting with cutting and arranging a rubber lino block into separate pieces. Like a puzzle, these pieces can be inked individually and reassembled to create colourful, layered prints.
No previous printmaking experience is required—just bring your creativity! All materials are provided, and participants are encouraged to wear clothes that they don’t mind getting a little dirty.

About Ailah:
AILAH CARPENTER (she/they) is an emerging multidisciplinary artist based in Saskatoon. Initially living in Prince Albert, they moved to attend the University of Saskatchewan (UofS) for Biology…Instead, she left with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Studio Art.
Early in their journey at the UofS, Ailah experienced a project that resonated with people across Canada: they were selected by the City of Prince Albert (PA) & Prince Albert Indian and Metis Friendship Center for their Orange Shirt Day submission titled, “Flying Back home.” Having felt the importance of this project, Ailah continued to focus energy in similar ways wherever possible, doing more work that honours their Indigenous culture and 2SLGBTQIA+ Pride.
Ailah’s personal practice is also informed by the struggles of neurodivergence, feeling out of place in their mixed Scottish-Cree identity, and their tendency to criticize social norms; Consequently, their work is often moody, delicate, and conceptual. Ailah believes holding space for the uncomfortable facets of ourselves and our communities is key to building a brighter future; They operate with the mindset that choosing to learn, accept, and improve, despite all systemic barriers working against us, is incredibly powerful.
