Ever wondered what happens when you combine colour, texture, a little experimentation and the unexpected? Join us for a hands-on printmaking workshop with Xtina Lamb from Intra Arts, where we'll explore the creative possibilities of Gelli monoprinting.Xtina will begin with a short introduction to Intra Arts Print Studio and the different printmaking processes they use, before guiding us through an evening of practical experimentation.
We'll start by creating our own monoprints, exploring how colours, textures and layers interact to produce unique results.
For those who fancy taking things a little further, there'll also be an opportunity to create silhouette prints using simple cardboard cut-outs (yes, even cereal boxes!) and black ink to add another layer to your artwork.
One of the lovely things about monoprinting is that no two prints are ever quite the same. There's always an element of surprise, and sometimes the unexpected results are the most interesting.
No previous printmaking experience is needed, and all materials will be provided. Just come along, have a go and enjoy discovering something new alongside fellow artists.
