British Columbia's General Local Elections for Mayor, City Councillors, School Board Trustees, and Regional District Directors are held every four years. This year's General Local Election for the City of Prince George (Mayor and Council) and School District 57 will be held on 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.Prince George voters will elect one Mayor, eight City Councillors, and five School District 57 Trustees.
𝗪𝗛𝗢 𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗩𝗢𝗧𝗘
To be eligible to vote in the City of Prince George Municipal Election as a resident elector, you must be:
•A Canadian citizen, 18 years of age or older on General Voting Day
•A BC resident for at least six months before registering to vote (since April 16th, 2026)
•A current resident of the City of Prince George
•Not disqualified from voting under applicable legislation
𝘕𝘰𝘵𝘦: 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘮𝘶𝘮 30-𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘭 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴.
Non-resident property owners may also be eligible to vote if they meet the applicable requirements and have owned property in Prince George for at least 30 days before registering. Only one non-resident property elector may vote per property. Additional consent requirements apply to properties with multiple owners.
𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗡 𝗧𝗢 𝗩𝗢𝗧𝗘
General Voting Day is on 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 from 8:00am to 8:00pm.
Advance Voting will be available from 8:00am to 8:00pm on four dates prior to General Voting Day. All eligible voters can vote in advance, and no special reason is required.
𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗩𝗢𝗧𝗘
Voting Stations will be located throughout Prince George. A list of voting locations for Advance Voting, as well as General Voting Day, is below.
Eligible voters can vote at whichever voting location is most convenient for them. You do not register in advance - you register upon arrival at a polling station.

Advance voting will take place from 8:00am to 8:00pm on the following dates and locations:

All four advance voting opportunities will be held at the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre, located at 808 Canada Games Way.

𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗕𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚
The City of Prince George uses same day voter registration - you do not need to register in advance.
To vote, you must bring two pieces of acceptable identification that, together, establish your name, residential address, and signature. At least one piece must include your signature.
Acceptable identification includes:
•BC Driver's Licence
•BC Identification Card
•BC Services Card
•Canadian Passport
•Credit or debit card
•Property tax notice
•Current utility bill showing your name and address
A combined BC Driver's Licence and BC Services Card counts as ONE piece of identification, not two.
Photo identification is not required.
If your identification does not show your residential address, you can provide two pieces of identification proving your identity, at least one with your signature, and make a solemn declaration of your residential address at the voting location.
𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗕𝗟𝗘 𝗩𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚
All eight voting locations are accessible to individuals with mobility challenges and those using assistive devices.
Additional accessibility options will be available at the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre during all four advance voting days and on General Voting Day.
•Curbside Voting - Available for individuals who need assistance voting from their vehicles
•AutoMARK Voter Assist Terminals - Available for electors with visual or physical impairments, with features including audio ballots, braille marked keypads, enhanced visual options, and sip and puff controls
•Voting Assistance - Electors who need assistance may receive help from an election official or another person of their choosing, including assistance with translation, mobility, or marking their ballot

𝗠𝗔𝗜𝗟 𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗢𝗧 𝗩𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚
Applications for Mail Ballot Voting are now available at City Hall, both Prince George Public Library branches, or online at: https://www.princegeorge.ca/form/request-a-mail-ballot
Mail Ballot Voting is available to ALL eligible resident and non-resident property electors. You do not need a special reason to vote by mail.
𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗗𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗦
•October 1st - Last day mail ballot packages will be sent by mail. After this date, packages must be picked up at City Hall, either personally or by an authorized third party
•October 15th at 4:30pm - Deadline to submit your Mail Ballot Voting application
•October 17th before 8:00pm - Completed mail ballots must be received by the Chief Election Officer to be counted.
Completed ballots can be returned by mail or courier, delivered to City Hall during regular business hours, or deposited in the secure drop box beside the City Hall entrance.
Residents who are unable to attend a voting station are encouraged to consider Mail Ballot Voting or the accessible voting options available.
