Primitive Rug Hooking 101: Basic Shapes is a rug hooking class designed especially for absolute beginners although the well seasoned rug hooker would also enjoy this one day simple project.Using a simple shape like a heart or star, or a classic coin motif—all traditional and forgiving designs—you’ll learn foundational primitive rug hooking techniques and build confidence as you work.
Together we’ll explore basic skills like getting started, pulling loops, shaping simple forms, and finishing. By the end of the class, you’ll either finish or be on your way to having a small project completed that you can use for making a mini pillow, mug rug, or other decorative object.
