Shining a Light on Primary Care Research.
About this Event

Most patient care happens in primary and community settings, yet these areas remain underrepresented in research compared with secondary care.

At Anglia Ruskin University, in partnership with regional organisations, we are working to strengthen primary care research across the region, with the aim of improving outcomes for our local population.

This event brings together medical students, clinical trainees, clinicians and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to explore how we can grow primary care research and increase opportunities for involvement.

The programme will include:

● Presentations from medical students and clinical trainees showcasing primary care research

● Keynote speakers addressing key workforce challenges in primary care

● Networking with colleagues who share clinical and research interests

● A morning workshop on regional approaches to overcoming barriers to engaging in primary care research

Who should attend?

This event is ideal for:

● Medical students interested in primary care, community healthcare or research

● Clinical trainees involved in or interested in research

● Primary care clinicians with an interest in research

● Nurses, pharmacists, allied health professionals and other community-based healthcare staff

● Researchers, educators and supervisors supporting primary care research and clinical academic careers

No prior research experience is needed. We especially welcome those taking their first steps into research.

What will you gain from attending?

By attending, you will:

● Gain insight into current primary care research across the region

● Hear from leading speakers on workforce challenges and opportunities

● Explore practical ways to overcome barriers to research involvement

● Learn about pathways into research and clinical academic careers

● Build connections with students, trainees, clinicians and researchers

● Help shape a more collaborative and inclusive regional research community

Whether you are already involved in research or simply curious about getting started, this event is an opportunity to learn, connect and help shape the future of primary care research in our region.

Abstract Submissions
If you are conducting research related to primary or community care and you are a medical or healthcare student, a clinical trainee (medical or non-medical), or a clinical academic trainee, you are invited to submit research abstracts for the opportunity to showcase primary care research at the event. We would value the opportunity hear about your work. If you think your research would be relevant to our event audience, we would be pleased to receive an abstract from you. Submissions will be assessed and scored by a panel and there will be a competition for prizes.
