About this Event
Part of PRIFF 2026, now in its fifth year, this special screening presents MY NDA, a documentary exploring how non-disclosure agreements can be used not simply to protect confidential information, but to silence people at moments of profound personal and professional vulnerability.
The film follows several individuals who decide to break their NDAs and go public with their experiences, despite the serious personal risks involved. Through their stories, MY NDA examines how a seemingly ordinary intellectual property agreement can become a mechanism of power, control and intimidation, and what it takes to challenge that silence.
Directed by Juliane Dressner and Miriam Shor, the film brings together two filmmakers with extensive experience across documentary, film and television. Dressner’s work has focused on civil rights and pressing social issues, including the Emmy-nominated Personal Statement and projects for The New York Times. Shor has spent more than 25 years working as an actor and director, with credits spanning film, television and theatre, including Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Younger, American Fiction and Maestro.
Together, they approach the subject from both an investigative and deeply human perspective, asking not only how NDAs are used, but what happens to the people expected to live under them.
MY NDA is a timely examination of silence, power and the personal cost of speaking out.
