Join us for the official start of our 2026 Pride celebrations! Fierté Fredericton Pride and the City of Fredericton are coming together to raise the Pride Flag right outside City Hall! ?️?This ceremony is a meaningful tradition that shows our city's commitment to love, inclusion, and 2SLGBTQIA+ visibility.
It takes place the day before our big Parade and Festival, making it the perfect way to kick off a weekend of community celebration.
Everyone is welcome to come out, show support, and gather together.
When and where?

? Outside the main doors at Fredericton City Hall. 397 Queen Street, Fredericton, NB
Schedule:
11:50 AM | Arrival: We recommend arriving a few minutes early to find a good spot to stand in the plaza.
12:00 PM | Ceremony Begins: Brief opening remarks with Land Acknowledgment, and speeches from Fierté Fredericton Pride organizers and City officials.
12:15 PM | The Flag Raising: The community gathers close as the Pride flag is officially raised on the City Hall flagpole.
12:30 PM | Social & Photos: Stick around for a few minutes to chat with community members, take photos, and celebrate the start of the festival weekend together.
Accessibility & Comfort ♿
Cost: This event is completely free to attend.
Age Limit: This is an all-ages, family-friendly event.
Mobility: The City Hall Plaza is flat, paved, and fully accessible for wheelchairs, strollers, and mobility aids.
Seating: Note that this is a standing ceremony that lasts about 20 to 30 minutes. There will be a set limited amount of folded plastic chairs provided (30). If you are unable to stand for this long, you are welcome to bring a portable lawn chair.
Sensory Notes: This is an outdoor event in a public space. There will be speaking through a microphone/sound system, crowd chatter, and normal downtown traffic sounds. We will be providing disposable ear plugs and masks for anyone to those who want some.
On-Street Parking: Metered parking is available all along downtown Fredericton, such as York Street Car Park, Queen Street, and Carleton Street which are the closest parking to the event.
Parking Garages: The East End Parking Garage and the Frederick Square Garage are both within a 5-minute walking distance.
City Transit: Multiple bus routes stop directly on Queen Street near City Hall or at the nearby Kings Place transit hub.

This event happens outdoors rain or shine!
In the case of severe weather or heavy downpours, updates or location changes will be posted directly to our Facebook page as well as this event page on Friday morning.
