Pride & Popcorn is a monthly film night hosted by Beverley Pride, taking place on the last Friday of every month.
It's a chance to come together, meet new people, enjoy a great film and spend an evening surrounded by a welcoming community.

🎬 THIS MONTH'S FILM: BUT I'M A CHEERLEADER
Our September screening is the gloriously camp 1999 LGBTQIA+ cult classic But I'm a Cheerleader, starring Natasha Lyonne, Clea DuVall and RuPaul.
Megan is a popular high-school cheerleader with a football-player boyfriend, but her family and friends become convinced that she's a lesbian and send her to True Directions, a residential programme designed to change her sexuality.
What follows is a colourful, funny and wonderfully absurd coming-of-age story as Megan meets Graham and begins to question everything she's been told about who she is and who she's supposed to be.
It's a sharp satire of conversion therapy and gender stereotypes, but at its heart it's also a funny, feel-good queer love story about identity, self-acceptance and finding the confidence to be yourself. 🌈❤️
The film stars Natasha Lyonne, Clea DuVall and RuPaul and has become a much-loved LGBTQ+ cult classic.
