About this Event

On Wednesday 21st January, Shrem kicks off the 2026 Press Play Series with a night dedicated to the legendary Cocteau Twins and their iconic vocalist Elizabeth Fraser.

The Scottish trio’s unparalleled blend of dream pop, ethereal wave, gothic rock and post-punk earned them an instant cult status among the music lovers and critics alike. This edition of “Press Play with Shrem” centres around their 1990 masterpiece “Heaven or Las Vegas” - a defining album in their vibrant discography.

Their sixth and final release on 4AD, “Heaven or Las Vegas” blends dream and ambient pop with psychedelia, experimental flourishes and lush, multi-layered electronic textures. Revered as one of the band’s most influential works, it also became their most commercially successful.

Join us as we play the album in full, loud and luxurious on the HiFi Hatchett Sound System, for a truly immersive listening experience.

The night will also feature a two-part vinyl set, hand-curated exclusively for this event - a journey through the Cocteau Twins’ expansive catalogue, including deep cuts, b-sides, rarities, and a generous selection of Elizabeth Fraser’s most exquisite collaborations. Shrem promises to incorporate at least one track from each of Cocteau Twins’ LPs and EPs into his selection for an all-inclusive listening experience.

Due to the intimate nature of our space, there are only 40 tickets available. Our last seven listening parties sold out quickly so don’t miss this intimate, one-night-only celebration of this singular and beloved trio.
