My kids will never hear their grandfathers’ voices. That’s what pushed me to take oral history seriously. I didn’t come to it as a historian. I came to it as a son and a dad who waited too long.
On Saturday, November 7, I’m teaching a free one-hour workshop at the Summerlin Library: Preserving Legacies: The Art & Science of Oral History.
We’ll walk through three things:
How to prepare: who to interview and what to ask
The equipment you actually need (it’s less than you think)
How to keep your recordings safe so they’re still there for your grandkids
If you’ve ever thought “I should record Mom’s stories” and then didn’t know where to start, this hour is for you.
Every attendee takes home a free Thanksgiving Legacy Worksheet. It has ready-to-ask questions for your holiday table, just a few weeks later.
