CYAN studio inviterer til en presentasjon av medlem ved mørkerommet Taylor Smith. The presentation will be mostly in English.
Taylor Smith is a French-American visual artist and researcher based in Oslo. Working with photochemical film, installation, and biological media, her practice explores emotional connections to endangered ecosystems and the invisible effects of climate change through interdisciplinary collaboration.
She was invited to be a resident artist this spring at Filmverkstaden in Finland through the Nordic Analog Network residency program.
During her stay Taylor primarily worked on a new series of 16mm experimental films called Sublimations toxiques (Toxic Sublimations). This series addresses industrial extractivism and water pollution, combining a variety of sites and perspectives. Each film integrates 16mm footage, manipulated using samples from mines, toxic waste dumps, factories and polluted water bodies.
Det blir åpen sosialisering og avslappet samtale over en kaffe eller annen drikke med fotokunstneren som har vært på besøk.
Tirsdag 17.november kl 18-19, på CYAN mørkerom i Trondheimsveien 32

//// Nordic Analog Network is a collaboration between, 10 different open darkrooms spread across all 5 Nordic countries. Organized by CYAN studio in Oslo and Finnish Darkroom Association in Helsinki. The network is sharing experience between the analogue photography environments in the region. By running an artist exchange where photographers in all countries can apply for an artist residency at a darkroom in another country, it opens up new collaborations both between the photographers who meet, the participating darkrooms and the surrounding art community.
The next Open Call for Network residencies in 2027 has an application deadline on the 20th November.
Nordic Analog Network is supported by Nordic Culture Point and Arts Council Norway. /////
