Preparing for Parenthood TogetherPrepare for parenthood together - not just for the birth.
An intimate, midwife-led evening for expectant parents to prepare for the realities of life after birth, understand what you’ll each need and learn how to navigate the fourth trimester as a team.
You’ve probably thought about the birth, bought the essentials and imagined life with your baby. But have you talked about what happens afterwards?
The exhaustion. Recovery. Emotional changes. The mental load. The impact on your relationship - and how you’ll make sure mum is cared for, too.
The fourth trimester can put even the strongest relationships under pressure. Having these conversations now can help you set realistic expectations, share the load and reduce the risk of unmet needs turning into resentment.
Hosted by Hazel, a practising midwife and founder of The Postpartum Company, this is a space for honest conversations, evidence-informed guidance and practical preparation - before you’re in the thick of it.
What we’ll explore:
01. Becoming Parents Together:
How parenthood can change your identities, routines and relationship - and giving yourselves space to adjust.
02. Supporting the Fourth Trimester:
Physical recovery, emotional changes and newborn life, including how birth partners can offer meaningful, practical and emotional support.
03. Building Your Family Village:
Identifying the people, practical help and support systems you can put in place before you need them.
04. Your Family’s Fourth Trimester Plan:
A personalised planner created to have the important conversations now, and map out a realistic plan for recovery, rest, household responsibilities, visitors, communication and sharing the load.
More than a class. A conversation that matters.
This isn’t about achieving a perfect plan or being told how to parent. It’s about making space to ask questions, talk honestly and consider what your family will need.
You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of the fourth trimester, practical ways to support one another and a shared plan for navigating those early weeks together.
Because preparing for a baby should also mean preparing to care for the people becoming parents.
