What makes an image stay with you long after you’ve looked away? It’s more than camera settings, Photoshop shortcuts, or beautiful props. It’s understanding how story, light, form, psychology, and intention work together to create something meaningful.
Join DPPA and fine art portrait photographer, digital artist, and mixed-media creator Kenzie Hunter, M.Photog., M.Artist. for:
UNCONVENTIONAL: Alternative Methods for Visual Creators — Learning to Create Like One
This full-day PPA Merit Class is designed to help photographers move beyond simply capturing what’s in front of the camera and begin developing images with greater purpose and intention.
Through storytelling, psychology, live demonstrations, and step-by-step instruction of a fine art composite, Kenzie will explore:
✨ Developing ideas with purpose
✨ Turning universal experiences into visual narratives
✨ Using composition and perspective to guide the viewer
✨ Creating believable worlds through light, color, and form
✨ Photographing and building composite elements
✨ Simplifying complex scenes with artistic Photoshop techniques
✨ Transforming everyday materials into unexpected creative tools
✨ Experimenting beyond traditional photographic approaches
Most importantly, this workshop isn’t about creating images that look like Kenzie’s.
It’s about learning how to think beyond the photograph and create work rooted in your own experiences, perspective, and artistic voice.
