About this Event
Pozole verde is a traditional Mexican type stew with deep Pre-Hispanic roots, that evolved from sacred rituals into a beloved holiday comfort food. The name comes from the Nahuatl word, pozolli, meaning foam. Today, pozole is a staple of Mexican celebrations such as Christmas and New Year's Eve, Pozole verde is made with tomatillos, cilantro, serrano peppers, white onion, hominy, and shredded pork. Traditional toppings or garnishes are, finely chopped white onion, finely chopped cilantro, lime wedges, sliced radishes, sliced cabbage. I am going to include Queso blanco and corn tortilla stripes. This is an interactive class, giving the participants to be engaged in the process.
Our Mission: Let our cooking classes inspire you. Work with our chef/instructor to learn how to prepare delicious recipes, hone essential techniques, and put some "heart" back into cooking. All levels of experience welcome! We offer private classes, private parties, and a bounty of niche gourmet food and beverage products! NOTICE about cooking classes:
- Classes are 2 to 2 1/2 hours, unless otherwise noted above.
- You will work with other students.
- Hands-on classes are limited to 7 to 10 students.
- You will sit or stand, cooking and working for most of the class.
- Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and have long hair tied back.
- We do not offer refunds for classes within one week of the scheduled date. However, you are welcome to transfer your spot to a friend or family member if you are unable to attend.
- Students receive a coupon good for the day of the class for 10% off in-store purchases on all food, beverage, kitchen, and table top products.
- All recipes are developed using common cooking and baking ingredients that may or may not be specified in the menu titles, including various fruits and vegetables, nuts, meats, spices, wheat flours, etc.
If you have a food allergy, please check with us before registering for a class. Adjustments to recipes cannot be made.
Refund Policy: All classes are subject to cancellation and/or postponement. If this happens to your class, a full refund will be issued. No refunds will be otherwise issued; however, tickets can be transferred to another event or individual.
