Caregiving looks like a lot of things: Picking up groceries for a neighbor who doesn't drive anymore, managing your mom's doctor appointments from another state, helping your spouse remember to take their medication, checking in daily on a sibling with a chronic illness, or handling the bills and paperwork for an aging parent. An estimated 63 million Americans are doing some version of this right now, and most don't think of themselves as “caregivers.” They just think of it as taking care of someone they love.
This is exactly what the Duluth Age-Friendly Initiative is about: raising awareness of the everyday realities that don't always get noticed, so our community, homes, businesses, public spaces, and neighbors can better support people at every age and stage.
If any of this sounds like your life, you're exactly who Powerful Tools for Caregivers is for.
Powerful Tools for Caregivers is a free, evidence-based 6-week class starting October 21 right here at Eco3.
