About this Event
This event is designed for contractors, students, and others interested in efficient water heating.
Cost: Free, with coffee, breakfast pastries, and lunch provided for in-person participants.
Buildings cause 40% of greenhouse gas emissions, and efficient water heating is one practical way to do better. Heat pump water heaters use 75% less energy than conventional water heaters, making them an important solution for meeting hot water needs, lowering energy use, and reducing emissions.
Participate in this split heat pump water heater training event with interactive instruction and a manufacturer trade fair in-person or online as part of Heat Pump Water Heater Week, October 26-29.
Split HPWHs are an emerging technology that separate the compressor from the tank and place it outdoors. With several manufacturers releasing new products in the past year, this training will help contractors, students, and other interested participants understand this efficient technology. The event will be offered in person and live streamed for virtual participation.
Brought to you by PG&E Energy Centers, Silicon Valley Clean Energy, San José City College, San Diego LEARN, New Buildings Institute, and the Advanced Water Heating Initiative. In partnership with ElectrifyNow.
Sponsored by PG&E Energy Centers.
Objectives
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Understand the basics of split HPWH technology
- Learn how to size and install a split HPWH system
- Compare the two main types of split systems: monobloc and refrigerant-based
- See split HPWH examples and ask manufacturers questions directly
Free coffee, breakfast pastries, and lunch will be provided for in-person participants. Register to reserve your spot and receive streaming details.
