OVERVIEW
Directed by double-BAFTA, double-EMMY award-winning Norman Stone, “POWER & GLORY” is an exciting biopic based on the true story of Michael Faraday, the ‘Father of Electricity’.
We invite you to watch the film and enjoy an exclusive Q&A with the Director, Norman Stone, Co-writer Murray Watts, Producer, David Jones, cast and crew.
STORYLINE
Michael Faraday was a humble man who rose from obscurity to become the greatest experimental scientist the world has ever known.
Faraday was born on the wrong side of the tracks in 1791, a blacksmith’s son with no privileges, no money, no connections in a world that was dominated by class and status. Yet Dickens, Turner, Einstein and Prince Albert were among his friends and admirers.
His rise to fame is an extraordinary story of human love and determination against impossible odds. His great scientific mentor, Sir Humphry Davy, eventually turned against him and Michael Faraday’s brilliant achievements were forged through opposition, struggle and despair.
He invented the electric motor, the transformer and the dynamo. The modern era is unthinkable without him. Few men have genuinely ‘changed the world.’ Michael Faraday is one of them, but his story is almost unknown… Until the making of POWER AND GLORY.
PRODUCTION
A fabulous cast starring James Cosmo (Game of Thrones), Conor Sanchez (Mix Tape, Boys of Tommen), Gaia Wise (All Creatures Great & Small), Andy Harrison (The Secret Garden) and Rebecca Calder (The Conjuring : Last Rites, House of the Dragon).
The film was shot over 15 days in the Sheffield area of England, in April/May 2026. Much of the filming was at Wentworth Woodhouse, the famous stately home in Yorkshire. Post-production was completed in Glasgow on 14th October, 2026.
