POP IS BLACK: Concert with KC's Top Black Pop Artists

POP IS BLACK is a live concert event and special edition of Zhou B Art Center KC’s ongoing ROCK IS BLACK concert series, dedicated to celebrating pop-influenced music by Black artists in Kansas City and beyond. This is not a tribute show, but a showcase of original music highlighting artists working across hip-pop, rap, pop, R&B, alternative pop, and genre-blending sounds that reflect the current and evolving landscape of Black musical expression.

Guests can expect a dynamic evening of high-energy live performances, immersive sound, and a vibrant atmosphere designed to center creativity, innovation, and community. A bar with drinks available for purchase will be open throughout the night. POP IS BLACK invites music lovers, arts supporters, and community members to come together for an unforgettable night of live music and cultural celebration.

Run of the Night
• 6:00 PM – Doors open, Opening DJ
• 6:30 PM – Live performances (4 Featured Muscians / Bands)
• 10:00 PM – Final performance / headlining set
