Alex Calapodis is the president and co founder of Knöppelåsen, an environmental stewardship educational nonprofit based in Aguanga.
In his presentation ‘Using Natives for home and garden protection’, Alex will share practical insights on using native plants as beneficial companion species in garden settings, highlighting how they support soil health, pollinators, and overall ecosystem balance while protecting your fruit trees from pests and diseases.
The presentation will also explore firescaping strategies, demonstrating how thoughtful plant selection and placement can enhance both the beauty and safety of your landscape in fire-prone environments.
