Each session combines expert conversation with practical learning designed to build confidence, sharpen hospitality skills, and deepen the way we understand the guest experience.

Part 1 of the "Psychology of Hospitality" Series
Front of House is an evolving educational series. Each session explores a different dimension of hospitality through expert-led conversation, food, wine, and practical application.
Participants earn a Front of House Certificate of Completion, Psychology of Hospitality Series, Session I for this session, and a Front of House Series Certificate of Completion, The Psychology of Hospitality upon completing the full series.

Parking & Transportation
Visitor Parking: Visitors may park on Levels 2–6 of the Traville Gateway Garage, in the Shady Grove Garage, or in Lot 2.
Parking Rates: $4 per hour, 24/7, with a maximum daily rate of $16.
Electric Vehicle Parking: Level 2 EV charging is available at Shady Grove Garage, Lot 5, and Traville Gateway Garage. EV spaces are for electric vehicles only, and vehicles should be actively charging.
Public Transportation: USG is accessible by several public transit options. Plan your route using Google Maps, Transit , or the Ride On Trip Planner.
Metro Access from Washington, D.C. and the Metro Area: Take the Red Line to Shady Grove Metro Station. From Shady Grove, continue to campus by Pink Line shuttle, Ride On bus, Bike or scooter
Metro Access from Surrounding Counties
Frederick County: Take the MARC Brunswick Line to Rockville Station, then connect to Ride On or Ride On Flex.
Howard County: Use RTA of Central Maryland to connect with Metro or MARC, then continue to Shady Grove and transfer to local transit.
Prince George’s County: Take the Green Line, transfer to the Red Line, continue to Shady Grove, then take Ride On or the campus shuttle.
