About this Event
This photowalk does not begin at the B&H SuperStore - Link to meeting location HERE. Please arrive early, as there is no planned route and we will be leaving promptly at 4pm.
Street photography has a timeless quality, and nowhere is that more apparent than in black and white. Join us for a point-and-shoot photowalk through the Lower East Side, where we’ll strip away color and focus on the essentials: light, shadow, geometry, gesture, and storytelling.
Bring your favorite point-and-shoot camera (or smartphone) and set it to black-and-white mode as we explore one of New York City’s most visually rich neighborhoods. Along the way, we’ll discuss how removing color can simplify a scene, strengthen compositions, and help you recognize compelling moments before they disappear.
Whether you’re new to street photography or looking to sharpen your eye, this walk will challenge you to see the city in an entirely different way.
Meeting location: SW Corner of E Houston St & Forsyth St (on the steps)
