Join us for a meaningful evening of poetry, connection, and late-night shopping at Dandelion Bouquet Shop.South Dakota educator and poet Virginia Towne will share selections from her chapbook, The Eagles Should Have Been Far-Seeing: A Journey to Forgiveness.
Virginia’s work shares her experience of losing a loved one to suicide and encourages us to talk about suicide, grief, and mental health without stigma or shame. As we carry the message of Suicide Prevention Month into October, we hope this evening creates space for awareness, compassion, and honest conversation.
After Virginia’s reading, we’ll open the floor for anyone who would like to share a poem of their own. Poems may be about any topic, and all voices and experience levels are welcome. You’re also welcome to simply listen, shop, and enjoy the evening—there’s no pressure to read.
