About this Event
We are pleased to welcome September Faison and her Poetry in Motion event! Poetry in Motion is a welcoming creative experience designed to bring people together through art, storytelling, music, poetry, comedy, and authentic self-expression. Whether you're performing, creating, showcasing your artwork, or simply enjoying the atmosphere, there's a place for you here.
Participants will enjoy an hour of “color therapy” where they’ll be able to express themselves through art followed by an open mic where attendees are encouraged to share their talent through poetry, storytelling, music, spoken word, or anything else they’d like to perform. No experience required! This will be a welcoming space filled with encouragement!
About September:
September Faison is an Author, Poet, Wellness Advocate, and Entrepreneur. As a storyteller, she has always had a passion for writing, creating, and self-expression - it was her therapy. Through her work as an author across multiple genres - children's literature, young adult fiction, poetry, and personal development - she discovered the real power that putting words on a page can have on a person's life.
As of late, an overwhelming desire to pull the youth into the creative expression realm has grown stronger. September believes when people, especially the youth, are able to express themselves freely, without judgement or ridicule, it provides a healthy outlet to release what they are feeling and thinking.
