Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man, Grofé's Grand Canyon Suite, Griffes Songs with Lisa Willson DeNolfo, and Respighi's Pines of Rome!About this Event
This program features some brilliant orchestral favorites. Celebrating American creativity, it opens Aaron Copland's solemn Fanfare for the Common Man, and features the viscerally expressive depiction of the Grand Canyon in Ferde Grofé's immortal 1931 five-movement suite.
We're thrilled to welcome Lisa Willson DeNolfo for a fourth performance with the Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra, a testament wo how beloved her voice has become to LSO audiences. American impressionist Charles T. Griffes' "Three Poems of Fiona Macleod," is a brilliantly expressive set of songs.
We end with the gorgeous writing of Ottorino Respighi, in his fantastic Pines of Rome, with the sounds of joyful children playing, midieval monks chanting, gorgeous moonlight pines, and the might of the ancient Roman empire.
With free parking for concert-goers and a convenient Sunday afternoon concert time, the Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra is a great way to experience outstanding performances in the DelCo and Philadelphia region! - get your tickets now!
