About this Event
Most businesses aren't short of opportunities. They're leaking them.
Software subscriptions nobody uses. Processes that eat hours every week. Enquiries that never convert. Customers who don't see the value in what you offer. Each leak looks small on its own, but together they could be costing you tens of thousands of pounds a year.
Plug the Leaks: Stop Losing Time, Money and Sales will take place on 25 November at the BTC Stevenage between 5pm and 7pm.
Description and outline
In this interactive 90-minute workshop, we'll help you identify where your business is losing time, money and sales and, more importantly, what you can do about it. A practical, interactive workshop for business owners and managers who want to grow while working smarter and not just harder.
Climbing Turn will help you examine how your business operates, identify inefficient processes and explore how better systems, data and automation can save time and money.
Sales Geek will help you examine your sales process, uncover the leaks in your sales and how to plug them. You'll work on your own business throughout, so you leave with your own numbers, not just ideas.
What we'll cover:
- Is your business leaking money? Identify hidden costs, unnecessary subscriptions and invoicing gaps, and why your customers are running the same "is this still worth it?" audit on you.
- Are your processes wasting your time? Spot the repetitive tasks, bottlenecks and processes draining your week, and see what slow follow-up is really costing you in lost sales.
- Finding your best solution: map your customer journey and decide what to automate, what to keep personal, and where your data should live.
- Fix the right things with live exercises: work out your own lost time and revenue, and the point where your deals most often stall.
Key benefits of attending
By the end of the workshop, you'll:
- See where the money goes: leave with a real figure for the time and revenue your business is losing each year in inefficient processes and missed opportunities.
- Know why customers stay: greater clarity about why customers choose you, what they value most and how to communicate that value without defaulting to discounts.
- Follow up more effectively: practical ways to keep conversations moving and reduce the number of promising enquiries that go cold.
- Automate the right things: know which tasks to systematise and which still need a human touch.
- Leave with a plan: one practical commitment you can act on week one, plus your completed Leak Finder worksheet.
Whether you're spending too much time on administration, struggling to convert enquiries or considering investing in new technology, this workshop will help you identify the problem before spending money on the solution.
Biographies
Dorothy Molloy, Climbing Turn
Dorothy has 30 years of experience in IT and software engineering, starting off as an IT assistant and became an IT manager before moving into software in 2000. She worked for 11 years as a senior software engineer for the BBC, where she gained a lot of experience in many different systems, including learning industry standard approaches to software. It was during this time that she created the beta version of the BBC News app for Android.
Climbing Turn was formed in 2009 and has advised and created systems for businesses in the UK, US and Canada. Having worked with micro to large sized companies, they have learned to quickly identify opportunities for improvement. Being software engineers, they are a one stop shop offering advice, tech liaison, with 3rd parties and can build the solution themselves.
What do the skills of music, maths and software design have in common? They all require the understanding of innate patterns and order. This is why Dorothy is drawn to helping people to improve the systems that they have.
"What I really love is seeing the joy on a client's face when they are relieved of an onerous task!"
Yash Bedi, Sales Geek Hertfordshire
Yash has spent his career in enterprise sales and commercial leadership, across multiple industries and three continents. He has closed complex, multimillion-pound technology deals with FTSE 100 and Fortune 500 clients. He has also led market entry and international expansion for several businesses, rising to Country Head along the way. Most recently, he has worked with large pharmaceutical and medtech companies to help them adopt AI responsibly at enterprise scale.
Now he brings that same structure and discipline to small and growing businesses. Too often, the methods that give big companies predictable growth stay locked inside them. Yash's mission is to give SMEs the same commercial foundations, so their growth becomes consistent, repeatable and faster.
Away from work, he loves football, boxing and weight training, and has recently started a hopeful attempt at golf. These days, though, as a father of five children under eight (he really is passionate about rapid growth and expansion), you're more likely to find him at a soft play centre or on the touchline of one of their football matches or training sessions!
