Playwrights Horizons presents its first FREE PLAYWRITING WORKSHOP of the 2026/2027 season: Visual Art as New Play Inspiration
Join director and writer, Colette Robert in this dynamic playwriting workshop exploring visual art to build character and story. Participants will use artwork from the exhibit “Proximity” at Snug Harbor as a starting point to create engaging characters and compelling dramatic settings!
A series of writing exercises, in addition to the featured paintings and sculptures, will give attendees sparks of inspiration for their next (or first!) play. Perfect for artists wanting to jumpstart a new project, or for those looking to find tools and tricks to overcome writer's block.
Writers, performers, dancers, visual artists, and thinkers and makers of all kinds are welcome! We hope you can join us in creating a space to imagine, create, and play in community!
