Make plans now to join a guided nature plant identification hike through the pine flatwoods at Isle of Pine Preserve, one of Orange County’s Green PLACE properties, on Saturday, March 13, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Walking beneath the pine canopy, we'll explore the plants that define this Florida ecosystem, discussing their ecological roles, historical uses, and ways to easily identify certain plants within these pine flatwoods habitats. Come enjoy a scenic hike through this managed conservation land and leave with a new appreciation for the plant life that shapes it. No botany experience needed.
As part of the inaugural Green PLACE Hiking Spree, attending the Plants of the Pine Flatwoods nature hike will help you get closer to earning rewards for hiking Green PLACE properties. The event runs from National Public Lands Day on September 26, 2026, to Earth Day on April 22, 2027.
