Your houseplants are doing more than sitting there. In two hours we'll walk through what the research actually shows. A mustard plant played a recording of caterpillar chewing armed its chemical defenses — no insect, no damage, just the sound. Wound signals have been filmed traveling through a living plant in real time, carried by glutamate, the same molecule moving signals through your brain right now. Injured plants release chemicals into the air, and their neighbors pick them up and prepare before anything touches them.
All of it is published, peer-reviewed work, and you'll leave with the citations.
We'll also tell you what got exaggerated. You've heard that trees feed their sick neighbors through an underground fungal internet. In 2023 researchers went back through the evidence and found the popular version badly overstates what we know. The networks are real. The documentary is not — and the true version is stranger than the myth.
Then you'll build one.
Every seat includes a houseplant you pot up yourself, in living soil you mix by hand, with mycorrhizal inoculant worked in on purpose — and an honest account of what that inoculant will and won't do for you. The plant goes home with you.
