About this Event
Come help us plant native wildflower species into the Pollinator garden, including:
- Large-leaved aster
- Black eyed susan
- Showy tick trefoil
- False sunflower
Meet us in front of the Ivor Wynne Centre (next to the gym) at 11:00 am and we will lead the way to the planting site! If you come late, refer to the attached image to find the Pollinator garden (star), it is next to the McMaster High Performance Area.
Bring/wear:
- Long pants and long socks can help to keep plants from coming into contact with your skin
- Comfortable, closed-toe, durable shoes are a good idea – your toes will be near shovels. Waterproof shoes/boots like rain boots are an even better idea as the ground can get very muddy
- Ensure your clothing and shoes are ones that you will not mind getting dirty
- Dress/pack for the weather! Bring a water bottle, wear sunscreen and a hat.
- Sun glasses and bug spray are often a good idea
We will provide gloves and equipment like shovels and trowels, alongside the plants that will be planted!
Accessibility Notes:
- Parking is limited! If possible take other forms of transportation, Lot H is the closest Parking Lot to our planting sites.
- If you are unsure how to use any of the tools provided, please ask any Nature at McMaster staff in attendance and we would be happy to assist you.
- If you feel unwell at any point during the event, please inform a Nature at McMaster staff member immediately.
- If you have any accessibility questions or concerns, please let us know and we will be sure to address them to the best of our ability
