About this Event
By the end of this 5-part course, participants will be able to:
Assess their clients' desire for wildlife-friendly landscaping;
- Relate the benefits of wildlife-friendly landscaping to their clients;
- Assess their clients' desire for wildlife-friendly landscaping;
- Demonstrate ability to address clients' concerns with wildlife-friendly features;
- Assess landscapes for improvements to enhance wildlife suitability; and
- Implement wildlife-friendly practices and features in the landscape.
The course is designed as a series, with one session building on another. Tickets can be purchased for the entire series at a reduced rate ($100), or class-by-class ($25 each).
Each session has been approved for 1.5 FDACS Core CEUs, FNGLA CEUs are available, and a certificate will be awarded for successful completion of the course. LIAF will grant 1 NCEU for each of the 5 sessions.

September 8: Why Landscape for Wildlife?
Info: Learn about the benefits of landscaping for wildlife. Develop a pitch you can use in encouraging clients to work with you on wildlife-friendly landscaping.
September 23: Communicating with Clients about Wildlife-Friendly Landscaping
Info: Learn about ways their clients may want to engage with wildlife in their yards and concerns they may have. Use this information to create a short list of interview questions you can use to understand your clients' desires and concerns.
October 7: Assessing Landscapes for Wildlife Suitability
Info: Learn about features that add value for different types of wildlife, including birds, pollinators, gopher tortoises, and other species. Practice finding information about wildlife that you and your clients value the most, and assess one of the properties that you manage.
November 5: Preparing a Wildlife-Friendly Landscape Proposal
Info: Practice evaluating the Hoke Library landscape for wildlife suitability and creating a proposal for landscape improvements. Create a proposal for one of the properties that you manage.
November 18: Class Presentations
Info: Participants share one of their wildlife-friendly landscaping proposals and the outcomes of it so far, including what they have learned that can help others in the workshop.
