About this Event
Join Douglas Justice, associate director at UBC Botanical Garden, for a 2-hr plant walk on Saturday November 7, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in Wesbrook Village to discuss opportunities and constraints for improving climate resiliency and biodiversity in our urban areas through plant selection and design.
This walk is designed for continuing education for BCSLA members and allied professionals. It will be focused on post occupancy review of mixed use, high density residential, and public realm planting.
Together we will discuss the good, the bad and the ugly:
- what's working, what's not and why
- benefits and drawbacks of native v. novel species
- what's missing, why, and how we can do more
Spaces are limited to 25, register soon to secure your place.
Meeting Location: Berton Avenue at Shrum Lane (outside Save On Foods).
There is underground parking (enter at the west end of Save On Foods on Berton Lane).
