Join Jennifer Ribaudo, clinical and bioregional herbalist and founder of Desert Moon Botanicals, for a guided medicinal plant walk through one of Arizona’s riparian environments.
Riparian areas offer a very different plant community from the surrounding desert. During this walk, we will slow down, look more closely, and explore the medicinal plants growing along the waterway and within the surrounding landscape.
We’ll discuss:
• How to identify medicinal and useful plants found in the area
• Traditional and modern herbal uses
• The ecology of riparian plant communities
• How plants adapt to seasonal water, heat, and changing desert conditions
• Responsible plant identification and respectful relationships with the landscape
This is an observational and educational walk. No harvesting will take place.
The walk is suitable for beginners as well as those who already have some experience with herbs or plant identification. Please come prepared to walk outdoors and dress for the weather and terrain.
Cost: $40 per person
Advance registration is required and closes at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 8. Space is limited. This walk requires minimum enrollment and may be canceled if enrollment is insufficient. Registered participants will receive a full refund or may transfer to another available walk.
Complete meeting instructions, terrain information, what to bring, and other walk details will be provided through the registration page.
