About this Event
Trees provide a natural solution as a stormwater management best practice. They provide food and habitat for wildlife, shade, improve air quality, beautify landscapes, and add economic value to our neighborhoods. In suburban areas where land use is increasingly dominated by rooftops, roads, driveways and sidewalks, also known as impervious surfaces, less rainfall can soak into the soil, increasing stormwater runoff.
Native trees help soak up this stormwater runoff before it enters our storm drains untreated and discharges into our waterways, including our drinking water sources.
Anderson & Pickens Counties Stormwater Partners (APCSP), in partnership with Pickens County Stormwater Department, is giving away FREE native tree seedlings (bare root seedlings) to Pickens County residents and an educational packet on stormwater management in the home landscape.
Limited to ONE FREE TREE SEEDLING PER HOUSEHOLD. Trees will be distributed on a first come, first-served basis to registered participants while supplies last.
Species available will be Eastern Redbud, Tulip Poplar, Bald Cypress and Overcup Oak from local nurseries in Upstate, SC and a Tennessee Tree Nursery.
Pick-Up: Friday, December 4th, 2026
