About this Event

Join us for Planet, Pizza & Play โ€“ a joyful community festival bringing together food, nature, creativity and practical sustainability for families.This free event is part of the Building Greener Communities partnership and is all about empowering individuals and families to take small, everyday sustainable actions โ€“ in a fun way!

Expect a relaxed, festival-style atmosphere with multiple zones, hands on activities, demonstrations and outdoor music and food!

๐Ÿ• Pizza for Pledges

Make a simple sustainability pledge at the ecobirmingham stand in the main hall to receive a raffle token to redeem for a FREE homemade pizza from the wood fired oven in the community garden (alternative vegan pizza and gluten-free chickpea curry available).

Note pre-booked tickets have free food allocation that must be redeemed by1.30pm latest as we cannot guarantee availabilty after this point.

Walk-ins - free food will be available whilst stocks last or until 2.30pm.

Time tabled activities:

11am to 1.30pm - Wormery compost drop in | Community garden

11.30am to 12pm / 12pm to 12.30pm - Martial Arts Free taster session | Florence Pickering Hall

12pm to 12.30pm / 1.30pm to 2pm - Live performance by Oya Batucada| Community garden

12pm to 12.30pm and 2.30pm to 3pm - Tiny Talk Baby sign language taster sessions | Main Hall

12.30pm to 1pm/ 2pm to 2.30pm - Stories for Nature storytelling | Forest School Camp

1.30pm to 3pm - Observe a karate class and opportunity to sign up | Florence Pickering Hall

2pm to 3pm - A hands on wormery compost workshop for adults and aged12+. Sign up at Compost CIC stall on the day - LIMITED SPACES | Community Garden

2.15pm to 3pm - Live Bee's workshop at the Bee Hut for adults and aged 6+ (at the back of community garden). Sign up at the refreshment zone on the day - VERY LIMITED SPACES | Bee Hut


Drop in any time 11am to 3pm:

  • Make your own wildflower seed bombs | Community Garden
  • Forest school crafts | Forest School Camp
  • Dr Bike โ€“ free minor bike repairs (first come, first served) | Car Park
  • Swap & Play - Bring up to 5 clean clothing items in good condition to swap for FREE and let your children play in the adjoining stay & play area (children to be supervised by adults) | Main Hall
  • Woodwork demonstration โ€“ help us build a bug hotel! | Community Garden
  • Make a sustainability pledge to redeem your food voucher (limited availabilty) with ecobirmingham and a chance to pick up other goodies | Main Hall
  • Energy advice with ecobirmingham (light-touch guidance and home visit bookings available) | Main Hall
  • Local community organisation stalls - Allens Cross & Northfield Community Partnership | Main Hall

FREE guaranteed entry and food allocation before 1.30pm via booking ticket on eventbrite (bookings recommended)

Walk-ins on the day are welcome but food will be available whilst stocks last or until 2.30pm.

Families, children, young people and local residents of all ages. All children aged 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult.


FREE Refreshments

We will have tea, coffee and squash available at reception - please bring your own reuseable cup to help save unnecessary waste!

Refresh your wardrobe for FREE - bring up to 5 clean, good-quality clothing items for the Swap Shop to swap and a carrier bag to take items home! Mens, womens and childrens clothing are all suitable, we do not accept small accessories, toys or clothing donations.

Bring your reusable cup to help save unnecessary waste!

Please bring appropriate clothing suitable for weather conditions - note the community garden is a mainly grassed area so wellies are advised!

Onsite parking will be reserved for stall holders, we encourage walking where possible.

If you require a disabled parking spot, please email [email protected] atleast one week prior event. There is limited nearby street parking. The closest bus routes are the 61, 63, 18 and 27.
