One of Cape Town’s finest bass players, Pizzo Magatyana, brings his distinctive musical vision to the stage with a dynamic seven-piece ensemble.
Born in Khayelitsha, Pizzo draws on the rich traditions of African jazz and mbaqanga, blending infectious township rhythms with the musical influences of legends such as Hugh Masekela, Winston Mankunku Ngcukana and Mbongeni Ngema.
Currently studying at Stellenbosch University, he continues to expand his artistry across the double bass and bass guitar, celebrating the richness and individuality of every instrument.
