🍑✨ James and the Giant Peach✨🍑An Adventure of Imagination, Collaboration & Belonging
What happens when a story leaps off the page?
**The peach begins to grow.**
This year, Pioneer Theatre invites you to step into the extraordinary world of James and the Giant Peach—a Christmas story of adventure, friendship, imagination, and finding a place to call home.
When James Henry Trotter discovers something extraordinary in his own backyard, his world suddenly becomes much bigger. Joined by a remarkable crew of oversized insect companions, James sets off aboard a giant peach, sailing across oceans and continents toward a new adventure.
But this journey is about more than where the peach goes.
It’s about who you meet along the way.
And bringing this story to life will be an adventure of its own.
🎭 Watch student actors bring James, his unforgettable companions, and the fantastical world of the peach to life.
🎶 Hear live music as our student musicians help create the soundscape of this extraordinary journey.
🎨 See visual art and tech theatre students transform our stage through hands-on construction, painting, and design.
🔨 Watch students from across Heritage work together backstage to build a world that is larger than life.
🍑 And experience what happens when an entire arts community comes together to tell one story.
Because this production is more than a theatre production.
📖Pioneer Theatre will welcome second-grade students from Lynchburg City Schools to a special daytime matinee celebrating the connection between literature and live performance. Together, we’ll help young learners discover that the stories they read can become worlds they can see, hear, and experience.
🍑 We believe stories grow when we share them.
We believe creativity grows when we create together.
And we believe that sometimes, the most extraordinary adventures begin with a single page—and a little imagination.
The peach is growing.
Come climb aboard.
Come meet the bugs.
Come find your place in the story.
More details coming soon! 👀🍑
