Dear Friends! It's time to sign up for the Pinkathon Run/Walk for Breast Cancer on Sat. October 24, 2026 at the SF Ferry Building! Run/Walk (skip or jump) any distance you want - 5K, 10K, 10M, 13.1M, 26.2M, 50K, or follow the Pink Ribbon Trail (GPS trail by Lenny/Dick Simmons in the shape of a pink ribbon) or Choose your Own Distance! You need to arrive no later than 7:30am for announcements and photos and the race starts at 8am. I'm one of several breast cancer survivors in the hash, and I organize this annual event with the help of well known ultra-running coach and breast cancer survivor, Lisa Felder.

It's always a super-fun time, not only because of the usually great weather, but because of the Saturday morning Farmers Market at the Ferry Building, and all the sights and sounds along the SF Embarcadero!
A few years back, when a friend died from breast cancer. her husband organized a fundraiser for the Pinkathon that raised over $37K! That was the Pinkathon's largest fundraiser to date. He is donating again this year, but through a Donor Advised Fun that allows him to donate non-taxable funds. I want to give you guys the info about how to donate that way, and also give you the online links! See below for the ways to donate.
To sign up to run/walk the Pinkathon, go to https://pinkathon.com
To donate to BCRF online from the Pinkathon website, go to https://pinkathon.com/ellenholbrook so I get credit for raising that donation. The online donations have a service/processing fee.
To donate to BCRF via your DAF (a non-taxable Donor Advised Fund), please use this free app, DAFpay.com. Then find and click on your investment company (i.e. Fidelity...), then find Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and make your donation, and put "Pinkathon 2026" in the Notes. If you donate this way, please email or text me to let me know and so I can manually input the donation so it shows up under the Pinkathon fundraising totals.
To donate to BCRF by Check (no processing fee), make out your check to "BCRF" in any amount. In the NOTES of your check, write "Pinkathon 2026" and "Ellen Holbrook". You can give your check to me at the Pinkathon or any hash or send your check directly to BCRF, 28 West 44th Street, Suite 609, New York, NY 10036 Attn: Christine Ward. If you send your check directly to BCRF, please email or text me to let me know so I can manually input the donation so it shows up under the Pinkathon fundraising totals.
