Serrano’s 8th Annual Pink Menu Supports Check for a LumpMonth long fundraiser includes free mammograms on Oct. 10 and a special “Pink Out” on Oct. 17
Serrano’s Mexican Restaurants is marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month with its 8th Annual Pink Menu, featuring two limited-time specials throughout October at its Mesa and Queen Creek restaurants. A portion of proceeds from the monthly specials will benefit Check for a Lump, an Arizona nonprofit providing breast health education, mammograms, diagnostic testing, wigs and support services.
As part of the month’s activities, Serrano’s is partnering with Check for a Lump to offer free mobile screening mammograms from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at its Queen Creek restaurant, 22703 S. Ellsworth Road.
Screenings are available to eligible Arizona residents who are age 35 or older and are not currently experiencing symptoms of breast cancer. Participants must apply in advance at checkforalump.org/freemammograms and bring a valid form of identification or proof of Arizona residency. Click ticket link to apply.
On Saturday, Oct. 17, both Serrano’s locations will host a special “Pink Out” in memory of Stephanie Serrano, a former Serrano’s co-owner, Chandler City Councilmember and beloved sister of Serrano’s CEO Ric Serrano. Stephanie died from breast cancer in October 2019.
Guests who wear pink on Oct. 17 will receive complimentary buñuelos for the table and $2 off Stephanie’s Stacked Enchiladas.
“We miss our sister Stephanie every day, and we know she would be proud to see her memory helping other Arizona families affected by breast cancer,” said Ric Serrano, CEO of Serrano’s Mexican Restaurants. “We are honored to continue supporting Check for a Lump and the important services it provides throughout our community.”
The Pink Menu will be served throughout October and includes:
Stephanie’s Stacked Enchiladas – $12.99
Stephanie’s favorite dish features corn tortillas, black beans and shredded chicken stacked high and covered with tomatillo sauce and cheese. Served with a side of the guest’s choice. Gluten-free friendly.
Pink Out Margarita Sampler – $10.99
A colorful sampling of Serrano’s house raspberry, strawberry, passionfruit-strawberry and watermelon margaritas.
Check for a Lump began in 2009 as a call to encourage regular breast self-checks. Its mission has since grown to encompass a continuum of breast health services and support, including free education, screening mammograms, diagnostic testing, wigs, survivor programs and resources for Arizonans.
