Bridge the world of rock and classical with the iconic music of Pink Floyd and Deep Purple. 🎻🎸The Fernleigh Wind Ensemble presents a unique program for its upcoming concert Pink Meets Purple. The Atom Heart Mother Suite by Pink Floyd combines a rock band, brass ensemble, choir and cello soloist. The Concerto for Rock Band and Orchestra by Jon Lord (Deep Purple’s keyboardist) features a rock band with wind orchestra. 🎹
This is the first time in Australia that both works have shared the same program. The Fernleigh Wind Ensemble, conducted by Ian Cook, will join a rock group made up of dynamic Newcastle musicians:
• Marty Worrall - vocals
• Jacob Cummins - guitar
• John Wallace - bass
• Chris Blake - keyboard
• Phil Aughey - piano
• Ben Barnes - drums.
Don’t miss this opportunity to experience groundbreaking rock orchestral collaboration! This concert is proudly funded by the NSW Government through the Regional Community Bands Program. 👏
