The way we were raised shapes the way we parent. But what happens when we begin to understand those patterns and consciously choose a different path?
Join us for Pillars of Trauma-Informed Parenting, an afternoon of education, meaningful connection, and restoration designed to help parents and caregivers better understand the impact of trauma, strengthen relationships with their children, and approach parenting with greater awareness, compassion, and confidence.
This event is presented in partnership with the City of Frederick's THRIVE Program, a community initiative dedicated to helping young people and families build stronger relationships through positive shared experiences. As part of the City's RISE Reengagement Program, THRIVE brings families together through workshops, mentorship, outings, and community events that foster connection, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
Whether you're navigating challenging behaviors, working to break generational patterns, or simply wanting to create a more emotionally supportive environment for your family, this experience offers practical insight and a welcoming community.
What to Expect
1:00–2:30 PM | Trauma-Informed Parenting Education & Discussion
Join Jason Francis, Counselor and Youth Reengagement Director for the City of Frederick, for an engaging, interactive conversation exploring how trauma and stress can influence children's emotions, behaviors, and development.
Gain a deeper understanding of how to respond to your child's needs with compassion, build trust and emotional safety, and cultivate healthier patterns of communication and connection.
2:30–3:30 PM | Community Mixer & Appetizers
Connect with fellow parents, caregivers, and community members over refreshments and meaningful conversation. Share experiences, build relationships, and discover the power of knowing you're not navigating parenthood alone.
3:30–4:30 PM | Restorative Sound Bath
Close the afternoon with a deeply relaxing sound bath designed to invite stillness, reflection, and restoration.
Parenting asks so much of us. This is an opportunity to turn some of that care inward, slow down, and reconnect with yourself.
No prior experience with meditation or sound healing is necessary.
Why Attend?
Because understanding your child's behavior is only part of the journey. Learning to recognize your own responses, create emotional safety, and lead with intention can transform the way your family connects.
You don't have to be a perfect parent to make a powerful difference.
Come for the education. Stay for the connection. Leave with practical tools, fresh perspectives, and a renewed sense of ease.
