About this Event
September is Family Meals Month, a national initiative celebrating the positive impact parents can have by sharing meals and meaningful time with their kids. Research shows that children whose parents are 'hands on', actively involved in their day-to-day lives are less likely to smoke, drink, use drugs, or engage in other risky behavior.
This fall, Network180 and the Kent County Prevention Coalition, alongside local nonprofit The Recipe, are partnering with Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation to bring Family Meals Month to the community. Families are invited to enjoy a picnic at MLK Park, where pizza will be provided for the first 50 families.
