This event is being offered entirely free as a benefit to MRMTA members and the broader Winnipeg music community. Join us in Eva Clare Hall (65 Dafoe Road West) at 10AM on Friday, October 30 for an illuminating lecture by Dr. John Burge."John Burge had some fine piano teachers growing up in Calgary, Alberta and later at the University of Toronto. Even more importantly, he observed some great teachers working with his son in both private studio settings and as a master class participant. In a lively presentation, John will share and demonstrate the best of these memories at the piano. While the focus will be on teaching the piano, musical pedagogy is sufficiently expansive that all music teachers should find resonance—and even a few laughs—in the ideas presented."
