After performances in Southern California, DIVALICIOUS! A Jazz Journey makes its Arizona debut at the legendary Rhythm Room!Join vocalist and storyteller Debbi E. for a musical journey celebrating five extraordinary women who helped shape not only jazz, but Debbi’s own life as an artist: Nancy Wilson, Sarah Vaughan, Lena Horne, Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday.
Through music, stories, laughter and a little bit of Debbi E. sass, DIVALICIOUS! explores what each of these legendary women taught her about storytelling, freedom, theatricality, musicianship, joy and truth.
For this special Phoenix performance, Debbi will be joined by Richard Abraham on piano and serving as Musical Director, along with Phoenix’s own Adam Clark on drums and Ben Hedquist on bass.
And making the afternoon even more special, celebrated jazz vocalist Dennis Rowland, longtime featured vocalist with the legendary Count Basie Orchestra, will join us as guest presenter and may even sing a tune!
This one is especially meaningful to me. Phoenix has been a second home for many years, and I’ve wanted to bring DIVALICIOUS! here for a long time.
Now it’s finally happening at The Rhythm Room!
Come take the journey with me. ❤️🎶
