Distinguished as one of the world’s longest running musicals, this epic and uplifting story has become one of the most celebrated musicals in theatrical history. Set against the backdrop of 19th century France, Jean Valjean is released after 19 years of unjust imprisonment to find nothing in store for him but mistrust and mistreatment. He breaks his parole in hopes of starting a new life, initiating a lifelong struggle for redemption as he is relentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert, who refuses to believe that Valjean can change his ways.
A winner of 8 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Original Score and Best Book, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, and sacrifice – a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit.
