Phil Hartnoll is a British electronic musician best known as one half of Orbital, alongside his brother Paul Hartnoll. Emerging from the UK rave scene in the late 1980s, he helped shape intelligent, melodic electronic music that bridged underground dance culture and mainstream audiences. Orbital’s innovative use of synthesizers, sampling and extended live performances influenced generations of techno, ambient and electronic artists. Phil’s energetic stage presence, trademark head torch and commitment to musical experimentation contributed to electronic music’s artistic credibility, helping establish it as a respected modern genre. His work also demonstrated that electronic acts could deliver emotionally rich, album-oriented experiences beyond clubs.Phil will also be performing as part of Independent Venue Week, celebrating the UK's independent music venues and the artists who bring them to life.
