As the beaver settles in for winter, we’re doing the opposite—getting out on the river for a little fresh air, gentle exercise, and moonlit fun. Join The Floathouse Petaluma for a playful early-evening paddle beneath the Beaver Moon, which in 2026 happens to be a supermoon (extra big, extra bright, extra wow).Moonrise comes just minutes before sunset, giving us that magical overlap of glowing moonlight and lingering daylight. From the water, we’ll watch the moon lift over the wetlands, reflections shimmer, and the river quietly shift from day to night—one of those evenings that feels like a small gift from nature.
We’ll cruise along in comfy, stay-dry Hobie pedal kayaks, which makes this an easy, relaxed outing whether you’re a seasoned paddler or a total beginner. It’s movement without feeling like exercise… but your body will thank you later (especially with Thanksgiving right around the corner 😉).
We’ll be back at our downtown dock in time for evening bites and beverages. Paddle participants receive 15% off at TAPS on the River, and there are plenty of other great spots just steps away.
