30 PEOPLE. 30 CAKES. ONE VERY BIG PICNIC.
We’re bringing one of the cutest social event concepts from around the world to Perth — the Perth Social Society Cake Picnic! 🍰💜
The concept is simple: 30 people, 30 cakes and one big afternoon of eating cake, meeting new people and enjoying the sunshine.
This is a Social Society event with a sweet twist — so whether you’re new to Perth, looking to make friends or just really love cake, come along!
🎟️ YOUR TICKET
$40 per person
There are only 30 tickets available, as every attendee must bring a cake.
Your ticket includes:
- Entry to the Cake Picnic
- Your cake displayed on our styled cake tables
- A pizza box to take leftover cake home
- A Social Society stamp
- The chance to win our Best Cake Competition
- An afternoon of cake, games, meeting new people and good vibes 💜
🍰 THE ONE RULE: YOU MUST BRING A CAKE
Every person attending must bring ONE cake.
It can be:
- Homemade 🧁
- Shop-bought — but please support a proper local bakery rather than buying from Woolies or Coles
- Vegan cakes are absolutely welcome 🌱
NO CAKE = NO ENTRY.
Your cake must also arrive on an appropriate cake board, stand or plate so that it can be safely displayed on our cake tables.
Please make sure your cake is ready to display when you arrive — we won't be able to transfer cakes onto boards or stands for you.
⏰ CHECK-IN & CAKE COMPETITION
Check-in: 1:00–1:30pm
When you arrive, head to our Perth Social Society hosts, who will be wearing purple.
You'll receive:
- A cake name card
- A pizza box
- Your Social Society stamp
Fill out your cake's name and place the card in front of your cake on the display table.
Cake cutting begins at 1:30pm, so please make sure you arrive and have your cake displayed before then.
⚠️ Cakes arriving after 1:30pm will NOT be eligible for the Best Cake Competition.
🏆 BEST CAKE COMPETITION
Think your cake is the star of the show? 👀🍰
Our hosts will shortlist 3 of the best cakes at the picnic.
We'll then put those three cakes to an Instagram poll, and the winner will be decided by the people!
The cake with the most votes at the end of the picnic will win:
🎟️ An annual Perth Social Society pub crawl pass
🚤 A ticket to our Halloween Boat Party on 30 October
So bring your A-game. 👀
🧺 THE PICNIC
Bring your own picnic blanket to sit on and get comfy!
We'll have styled cake tables set up for everyone's cakes, with different heights and displays to make the cake spread as cute (and Instagrammable) as possible.
Once the cakes have been displayed and the competition has been judged, we'll cut into them and share them around!
⚠️ CAKE & ALLERGY INFO
Please avoid bringing cakes containing nuts where possible.
However, we cannot guarantee that any cake will be free from allergens or cross-contamination. Anything you choose to eat at the event is your own responsibility.
By attending, you'll also be required to complete our online e-waiver confirming that you understand cakes are brought by individual attendees and that Perth Social Society is not responsible for the preparation, ingredients, storage or handling of home-baked or shop-bought cakes.
📍 WHERE?
Sir James Mitchell Park – Zone 7, South Perth
Zone 7 is the large open grassed area directly south of the flagpole.
We'll have Perth Social Society signage and hosts in purple to help you find us.
