Join us on November 7th at 9 AM for a fun day of planting. Help put your mark on your community and make Periwinkle Park better for wildlife, water quality, and people! We'll meet on the North end of Periwinkle Park at 9 AM to plant a strip of wildlife and pollinator friendly native along the fence of Periwinkle Elementary. Plantings will help to increase shade, absorb winter water during the heavy rain season, and provide habitat for birds, pollinators and other wildlife.
Plants will already be in their planting locations so all you'll have to do is put their roots in the ground. City of Albany Parks and Rec and Public Works will be onsite to give us a hand. This is a great opportunity to get outdoors and do something for your community while learning about native ecosystems and watereshed restoration!
All ages welcome, parental waiver required for minors under the age of 18
Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring water to drink. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
